Liebster award!

Oh my very goodness! I’ve been nominated for a Liebster award, here and at MagickalMutterings!

I was amazed at the first nomination and amazed again by the second.

So huge thanks go to Mollie and Claire for the nomination

Interestingly the rules are slightly different than those given by freakshowminustent (who nominated my other blog) and the logos are completely different.

Copied from Mollie and Claire:

The Leibster Award is given by bloggers, to bloggers, and it’s purpose is to highlight blogs with under 200 followers that deserve a look. Encouraging people to visit blogs that others enjoy seems like a great initiative. The rules for the award are pretty straightforward:
1. Post eleven facts about myself
2. Answer the questions given to me by the person who nominated me
3. Invent eleven questions to ask people whom I wish to nominate for the award
4. Choose eleven people (with fewer than 200 followers) to give this award to and link to them in my post.
5. Go to their blog and tell them.

So here goes:

Random facts:

  1. I’m vaguely obsessed with weddings even though I’m not engaged (in fact, I’m currently watching Don’t Tell the Bride!)
  2. I’m really obsessed with crafting
  3. I’m completely obsessed with books
  4. I’m a little obsessive
  5. I live in a lovely flat by the sea (which I’m a bit obsessed with)
  6. I often struggle to mesh my religion with my everyday life
  7. Although I would love a ‘professional’ career, I can totally picture myself as a housewife and stay-at-home mum
  8. I try to wear something I’ve made everyday (today, a chunky jumper with an intarsia heart that I’m super proud of)
  9. More than any creature in this world, I’d love to see a narwhal
  10. I drive an LPG-converted car
  11. Said car is covered with decorative leaves and watched over by my crochet unicorn Twinkle

Questions to answer:

1. What is your favourite time of the day and why?
Late afternoon/evening. It usually means guilt-free me time and cuddles with my Steven
2. When do you write your blog posts?
Whenever I feel inspired but quite often while I’m cooking our tea
3. How important is your blog to you?
Really important but the reasons behind the blog are more so I think
4. Where have you been that you would really recommend people to visit?
The Suffolk coast in general but particularly Southwold
5. Champagne or Cider?
Cider
6. What is the best gig you’ve ever been to?
I’ve never been to one
7. Recycling or Upcycling?
Um, I’m not really sure of the difference but I think I love both!
8. Who is your favourite knitwear designer?
I don’t really have one, I like different things by different people
9. What is your favourite yarn?
Tricky one, I love cotton in general. My fave to work with is probably Patons 100% cotton
10. If you had to recommend an unusual yarn to yarn fans, what would you chose and why?
SWTC Oasis, 100% Soy Silk – amazing to work with, ethical and beautiful
11. If you could do anything right now, what would it be?
THIS!

My nominations:

FeelGoodKnitting

ByHookOrByCrook

KnitNRun4Sanity

Pretty Little Things In A Box

The Secret Life of a Crafter

CrochetLatte

Apologies that there aren’t eleven but if you combine these nominations with those over at MagickalMutterings, there are actually ten (I’m sorry, it should have been eleven but Mollie and Claire nominated PipKnits already)

My questions for them:

  1. Who inspires you and why?
  2. Describe your dream holiday
  3. Have you taken it?
  4. Do you write anything apart from your blog?
  5. What’s your favourite TV show, past or present?
  6. Do you believe in alternative therapies? Why/why not?
  7. Have you ever seen anything you couldn’t describe – ghosts, fairies etc?
  8. What’s the best present you’ve ever been given?
  9. Lazy days or busy days?
  10. What’s your favourite book?
  11. What’s the worst you’ve ever read (or tried to read)?

Apologies to anyone reading both of my blogs since I’ve cheated ever so slightly and used the same questions and things for both.

Looking forward to seeing what my nominees have to say about this.

And now for some actual crafting!
